ORTHOGRAPHIC THIRD ANGLE PROJECTION:
The third
angle projection is a way of portraying
a 3D design using series of 2D views. In this technique, we follow the
following orthographic views .
A ) Elevation
B ) End Elevation
C ) Plan
ELEVATION:
If the object is viewed
from the front and draw it on the sheet of the glass placed between us and
object , then such type of projection views is known as the Elevation .
END ELEVATION:
If we walk round the
side of an object, we view object from its end and then draw it on the second
sheet of the glass. Such type of projection view is known as the End Elevation .
PLAN:
If we are directly above the object , so that we can view the object from its top and draw it on 3rd sheet of glass , then such type of view is known as the Plan.
Difference between
Orthographic First and Third angle Projection:
FIRST ANGLE PROJECTION:

The object is to be formed on the 1st quadrant.
●
The object lies between the observer and the plane of projection.
●
In this type of technique , we can create a 2D drawing of a 3D
object.
●
In first angle projection , we follow such projection views “ TOP
VIEW ” , “ SIDE VIEW ” , and “ FRONT VIEW ” .
THIRD ANGLE PROJECTION:
●
The object image is to be formed on the 2nd quadrant.
●
The object lies between the observer and the object.

In this type of technique, we are portraying a 3D design using a
series of a 2D views.
●
In third angle projection, we follow such projection views “ ELEVATION
” , “ END ELEVATION ” , and “ PLAN ” .
